![]() When the Smart Sharpen dialog box opens up, if possible, expand the window so the entire image is visible. In the Menu Bar above, select Filter, in the dropdown menu navigate to Sharpen, then select Smart Sharpen with the right layer selected. Well done Pete, in honour of your efforts, I have made an offering to our local Cystic Fibrosis charity group. Step 2: Apply the Smart Sharpen Filter to the Layer. Press 'OK' in the 'Duplicate Layer' box to confirm. In the Layers panel, right-click on a layer and then select the 'Duplicate Layers' option. Make sure you can see the Layers panel on the right. My personal hit-pick would have to be the SuperSmooth filter, as it does a very nice job of removing the glitches in JPeg images, a very important effect in my line of work, and great for cleaning up the crap in big panels of flat colour that you get on over-compressed images. To use the Smart Sharpen filter, youll need to open a suitable image in Photoshop. Overall, a great selection, holding much potential. This saves wasting your PC's precious RAM by filling it up with plugins you never use. I would recommend to unpack all of them into a directory of their own, so you can sort through them and delete those which you don't feel you will use often. Of all of the filters, there are about half which will appeal to any one person in particular, and exactly which ones will appeal to you, well, only you can decide that once you have had a play. So when I saw the Xero collections, I thought "Ooh! Gimme! Wanna have a play." so I did.Īs Pete says in his documentation, these filters are NOT multi-million dollar products, these are small, tidy, specific-effect filters, each one designed to do a specific task as best it is able. and thus I am also an avid hunter and collector of Photoshop Plugins, Filters, Actions, etc. This Review: 9.0/10 Value for Money: Documentation: Ease of Use: Functionality: Give your designs that Xerox photocopy/ink bleed effect with Adobe Photoshop Today I run through my process for giving my design work that cool photocopy effect with loads of ink bleed. Now, rush on over to the Downloads page, grab the filters, and get creative! You can download the filters individually, or you can grab the whole package from the downloads page. My filters are often quite subtle, but are intended either to give a genuinely useful creative effect, or to perform a useful job such as the 'skycleaner' filter. Personally, I find that many such filters produce results that are mildly amusing for a few minutes, but too over-the-top for serious regular use. These filters are, for the most part, not as 'extreme' as most of the hundreds of filters available on the web. (Very) full tutorial on my posts.Price: FREEWARE Available: online PLUGIN: Xero Filter Sets product reviews ![]() This is a We-in-Wet Watercolour I've managed to produce just with Affinity's filters and tools. In the mean time have look at some of posts to see if they help at all. ![]() I plan to do a Procedural Texture 101 tutorial for absolute beginners - no maths or programming (I don't understand it myself ☺) - just tips on what I've learned so far. Through A LOT of perservence and experimenting I have discovered just how powerful the Procedural Texture in particular is and I have managed to create chalk, watercolour, oil paint, acrylic and other macros, all of which give a better result than the Photoshop artistic filters that I have relied on for decades. You only have to set up a macro once and you have a one-click filter. I know the Macros and Procedural Textures can be daunting, but you should be able to find many examples on the forum which you can either download or copy and paste. Doesnt matter if its Acrobat Pro DC or just the Adobe Reader. I can print from every application (word, excel, power point, adobe illustrator, photoshop) but I cannot print a PDF. Resetting the printing system DOES NOT work, so do not recommend that. If you go in through the Layer menu to New Live Filter you'll see what I mean. 'Stopped filter failed' PDF only None of the recommended fixes that Ive tried work. One of the brilliant things in Affinity is that many of the filters can be 'Live'. ![]() I totally get where you are coming from, but stick with Affinity, it looks like artistic filters will appear at some stage. ![]()
